Truths Of Grace

Truths of Grace

Grace is a gift of kindness given to someone who does not deserve it.

Grace is not reciprocal. It goes one way

Grace is costly. Someone has to pay the price for it.

Grace looks at what people can become and seeks to help them reach their potential.

Grace does not condemn those who have not yet arrived.

Grace focuses on solutions, not problems.

Grace leads to action.

Grace is what motivates God to relate to us moment by moment with perfect love.

Grace is the lubricant that eases the friction in any relationship.

Grace expects the best but offers the freedom to fail.

Grace celebrates success and does not keep score of wrongs.

Thank God for his true Grace because without it, where would we be? None of us deserve and yet he chose to give it to us anyway.
You know. I was raised in a oneness church, and I learned how to be strong. Not everything did they teach that I agree with but the foundation was laid. I was baptised when I was 12 and my baptism never really meant anything to me personally. Until.......The Passion came out. Some times people need to see, even in a film which I am sure did not even begin to capture the true meaning, what actually happened to Jesus just for us. I sat thru the whole movie, reading to the family, as I am a faster reader, crying the whole time. The cruelness of God's creation. To think that he made us from the dust of the earth, loved us and took care of us and then we failed to follow instructions, sinned and fell from Grace.

He then felt compelled to send his beloved son down to earth just to save his creation. Jesus endured so much cruelity from his fathers creation and yet he knew what he was getting into when he came down. Jesus loved us before he died and still does today. He bore those awful painful stripes for our healing. Died so that we can live. Blesses us even when we don't deserve it and has never held a grudge towards us in anyway.

I know that the movie never even began to scrape the top of the agony that he suffered, but right then and there, my baptism meant something to me. I would like to think that I would get self out of the way in order to do the same thing, but I just don't know. I know that I would do it for my family, but for a stranger? Welll..... not to sure, especially for someone who hated me so much that they wanted me dead. Kind of makes you wonder.
