Choosing Grace

Anyone that knows me and has known me personally, will attest to how stubborn I can be. I am one that rarely will ask for any help. Sadly, there are times I have pushed God away even rejecting His loving hands that want to do more then help me. He wants to guide me and yet I have let him down more times then I can count. Thinking back on this I am shamed to know how I have tried to do things on my own. Making my own decisions, walking my own path not waiting on God to guide each and every step in my life.

Today, I listend to the song that I am putting on this blog on choosing grace and I decided to look up some verses on grace. The song is: "I choose Grace."

I am going to add some here.

Gen 19:19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:

Psa 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Act 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Act 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Titus 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Now as I look at all this, grace is certainly a gift..a reprieve from what we deserve and forgiveness comes from Grace from our sins. So sitting here and thinking how stubborn I have been and ignoring the GRACE of God and not turning to God for this lovely and wonderful gift of grace. It is so much easier knowing I do not have to carry my own burden, but that God is there with his loving grace to carry that burden for me. He alone can and will get us through each and every day. Life stops becoming such a struggle at that point, and so much less complicated. Now that song that inspired this one.. I must add with this. I hope you enjoy it. It is called, "I choose grace" By Twila Paris. I will add the Lyrics below the video.. such a wonderful song.

All alone in my own self will
Old familiar story
So determined to try until I fail
You've been waiting as I learn again
Straining to the pressure
And you offer me a better way
Hear me pray
Hear me say
CHORUS:
I choose grace, I choose mercy
I choose love and all it means
I choose grace, cause I need the power
And I need to walk in humility
Just how often have I let You down
And all the hope around me
Break a gentle heart along with mine
You keep holding out Your arms again
Just the way you found me
And you carry me across another line
Hear me cry
No more pride
CHORUS
I am growing weary of this foolish independence
I reach out for grace and I will reach out to extend it
I will reach out
I will reach out
I will reach out
CHORUS
Teach me to walk in humility
