I believe as Christians, we must intercede for those who do not know the Lord and release the power of God into their lives through intercession. This is the real power we possess as Christians, more so than tearing up cds and mailing them to an artist, protesting concerts with messages about people burning in hell, etc., which i really don't think will make a difference to him anyway - he expects that type of response to his music from Christians because it is what he has experienced for years.

But what would Jesus do toward a Marilyn Manson, or anyone of us who was in sin before we came to the Lord? He would share the truth in love and keep sharing it no matter what. He would pray to the Father on behalf of those who don't know him (real intercession) and ask the Father to forgive them. We see he even did this for his murderers as He was being nailed to the cross (Luke 23:34).

Having said this, i believe our role as Christians is to pray that the Lord would send the perfect laborer to minister the Gospel to him in a way that he will listen and understand it. Obviously, he is a very hurting and angry person, and I wonder what happened to him that created an open door for the enemy to fill his heart with hatred toward God the way he has. Most likely he has had an extremely bad experience with Christianity, or someone who really damaged him at some point in his early childhood. People don't just do what they do for no reason. We should commit to interceding for this man in a spirit of love, and not judgment, while at the same time making sure we are are monitoring what our kids are listening to and communicating that the messages he is communicating are unacceptable. Let's maintain the heart of God toward Brian Warner in the midst of our displeasure with what he is currently doing right now and remember that we were ALL on our way to a burning hell before we got saved. Had it not been for someone praying and sharing the Word with us, we may be there now...kEep praying that God will turn his heart - he is deceived.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-366901091880146896.post-11392392971591260162008-08-18T11:22:00.000-07:002008-08-18T11:22:00.000-07:00Another well written blog. You know God has had me...Another well written blog. You know God has had me in the Old testament for quite a while now. I still get plenty of New Testament confirmation on the things He has been revealing. The thing is that I have been finding so many comparisons to our state today from the Old Testament. Need we be reminded that God told them to remove the inhabitants from the land, because He knew that if they were left that they would influence His people and they would be led astray. I believe that today is no different. I am not saying that we are to take the same action as they did because today we are told by Christ that we are to live peaceably if possible with all men, however we are to remove the world from our lives. Our friendships directly affect us and our behaviors. If they are worldly they are going to drag us into the world. Again this is not to say that we can't have friends in the world but they should not be the ones that we run too, to share our problems with or get advice. The music we listen to should not be of the world because it drags us down instead of lifting us up. I love what you wrote and the scripture that you used. Please keep it up.
In Christ,
Stephen (HisWay)hiswayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04350349708859351081noreply@blogger.com
